Egg, Sperm and Embryo Donation
Different countries have different rules on egg, sperm and embryo donation. What can we learn from eachother? We'd like to hear your views on this subject. Below are ideas of some issues you may want to comment on. Click here to tell us what you think.
* What practical measures do you think could be implemented by clinics and others to make the process of gamete donation less burdensome for donors?
* Should the selection of donors for a particular recipient be left up to the clinics and patients? Or should there be guidance on matching physical characteristics between donors and recipients?
* Should there be freedom to allow sperm, eggs and embryos to be imported into any country?
* Should doctors have more independence in deciding what to do on a case-by-case basis?
* On payment of expenses of donors, do you think: a) there should be some guidance on payment of expenses to ensure donors don’t lose out financially from donating, although a maximum should be set; b) there should be no maximum value; c) that there should be no reimbursement of expenses.
* You're welcome to comment on any other issues you want.
