Author Babies Due Feb 2010?!
e_maclean posted on 3 July 2009, 12:09

Hi Jo, Deb, Sitaa,

Please can I join you?

Like you, I was lurking in the background waiting for a Feb 2010 thread to start but also in 2 minds about whether or not to have a break from the site too as the sad stories from time to time can really have an effect on your outlook and positivity, especially at such a crucial time.

I know Deb from our 2WW thread and know how terribley you have been suffering with your OHSS. Any news from yesterday? I don't blame you at all for feeling as down as you do. Over a month of constant pain and being house bound / in hospital is enough to drive anyone loopy.

Jo, Sitaa, good to "meet" you both.

Little bit about me.... I am 32, BF is 34. TTC for 20 months. I don't ovulate even after heavy doses of clomid etc. This was my 3rd cycle. 1st abandoned prior to EC due to poor response, 2nd abandoned before ET due to no fertilisation. This time we had ICSI and it worked...YEAH!! I live just outside of London, work in London and had my treatment at Bridge and Holly House.

I tested postive 15 days ago and so, like Deb, I am now in my 6th week. I have my first scan on Wed 8 July. I am literally counting down the minutes; it cannot come quick enough. I so want to know that things are OK. I feel as if I have been pregnant for ages and cannot wait to be able to tell people. We have only told our parents so far. A few close friends know we were having IVF and are dying to know but we don't want to jinx anything yet.

Sitaa - how many weeks/days were you when you had your first scan and saw the heart beat? That must have been amazing.

I don't really have any symptons, which worries me from time to time. Boobs still ocasionally very sore but less so. Amazingly, I have gone off choclate and sweet things and have started eating things I wouldn't usually but I would not go as far as to say they are cravings. I ocasionally have a bit of a funny tummy but have never been sick. I am a bit more tired but not "wiped out" like some people seem to be.

I wish you all the very best of luck.

Roll on our next scans and good, reassuring news all round.

Love
Liz xx

Hi Liz
Of course you are wellcome to join us the more the merrier! I too did not want to join in at first, I thought what are my chances that I will get a BFP first time? so I stayed off, but you realize you need support, you need to encourage others if you have been through some of the stuff you read and just want to share. I am 38 my dh is 47 this was our first go at IVF. Only guys in the same boat can paint you a clear picture. I will be going for my 8 week scan on 9th and I can't wait.

My boobs are not as sore as before, I feel tired most of the time, I wake up very hungry and must have a fruit before anything, I feel just a little nauseaous in the morning but nothing major, it passes unnoticed, I have no cravings and haven't gone off any foods 'yet' I think time will tell.

Deb

Where are you hun? I am thinking of you and the little one and keeping my fingers crossed for you that the OHSS clears soon, you will be okay, hung in there lov

JoJo

Everything alright? Hope so, keep communicating

I will talk to you guys later

Love Sita

Hi girls,

I am sorry to crash your thread....but I wondered if any of you have heard of Debs (Rooney)?

I know last time she posted on here she was off to the hospital for another check up on OHSS but I don't believe she's posted since and I really wanted to catch up and see how she was.

Debs - left you a message on apples too. Hope you are well and everything has calmed down for you now.

Thinking of you, best wishes

To all the lovely ladies on this thread- amazing buddies
OMG I have just come out of hospital..when i alst posted I was going to colect blood test results from gp...she said you have to go to A and E no, forget the fertility clinic, straight to casualty. It was all v dramatic and scary. I was shoing signs of an acutely infected gall bladder because my liver function bloods were really high and I had pain in that area. Anyway i was admitted back to the gynae ward where I was before and stayed in for 10 days. They have tested for just about everything but cannot find out what the problem is. My blood tests have actually got worse since then but they have ruled out hepititus, gall baldder infec, gall stones. I have very severe pain every morning above my belly button and in liver area, then it turns to tenderness for the rest of the day. My right ovary was measuring 11 cm when they last scanned and the left was 9 cm so they say i am stil overstimming. I have seen 10 docs over the last 10 days and 4 of them are consultants! Nobody regognises the problem...Now I am to see 2 consultants (one liver specialst and one ante natal and fertility consultant) next week to review. The next step is an mri scan on liver.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN SENDING WELL WISHES.
