i am a married 29 years old black african woman, unfortunately i cannot have any children on my own , i am considering adopting a child from country of origin ( The Ivory Coast), or my husband country of origin (cameroon) . In fact my sister's husband passed away in Cameroon and left a child . We would like to adopt this child and give him a brighter future. Is there anyone has information on how to proceed?

Hi,

Sorry I can't help you regarding adopting from Africa but I will say that there are lots and lots of african children waiting for adoption in the UK.

There is a serious shortage of ethnic adopters so you would have no problem getting a match. The adoption approval process would be the same whether you were adopting from abroad or the UK (approx. 1 year to get approved).
