Hi Jadie,
You can have IVF with donor eggs up until the age of 50 I believe in the UK and older in some foreign countries. I am sorry to hear that you have had to deal with the menopause at such a young age. I'm going through it now, and I'm 40, which is still considered premature,

Hi Jadie,
You should probably go to your GP to discuss all of this, as going through the menopause means that your body no longer produces eggs. Luckily, because of donor eggs (using another woman's eggs) it does not mean you have to miss out on being a mother.

Hi jadie

my heart goes out to you. I too had my menopause at 19, although I wasn't fully diagnosed until 24. If you have indeed reached a very early menopause then you won't be able to use your eggs as you won't have any but egg donation is a successful and wonderful option open to you. I have a beautiful daughter as a result if egg donation and having carried her for nine months, given birth to her and nurtured her and loved hercsince the embryo transfer she is mine.

If you haven't already seen a specialist I suggest that you ask your gp to refer you. You can then make sure that your diagnosis is right and grieve for the biological baby that you won't have. Then when the time is right egg donation will be there for you.

Take time to be kind to yourself, finding out you have reached the menopause at such a young age is horrid and I know that I felt very isolated but it doesn't have to be a disaster.

Good luck

Hello Jadie

I haven't been on IVF World for sometime & I just thought I'd take a look today to see what's happening.

I've just read your message & I wanted to say how sorry I am for you. I am also going through early menopause (early 40's which is hard) but at 19 it must be so difficult for you. It will take time for you to come to terms with this.

Please go & speak with your G.P. asap. You need questions answered.

My heart goes out to you.

Clara

CURLYTOP - I've heard your name mentioned before - have you had any luck with egg donation?

Hi Clara
I haven't tried a donor cycle yet.
I am having a laparoscopy in two weeks to clip or remove my blocked tube as a recent scan showed that there was fluid in it again, which can leak back into the womb and prevent implantation. Hope to be moving onto ED soon after that as I am at the top of the list, although I might give it a go naturally first. Don't know what my AMH is these days but I am still ovulating and still having periods. In saying that, I am convinced that I am not producing an egg every month because one or two periods have been 24-day cycles and my bleed has lasted just two days. Has that happened to you? Does it mean I am perimenopausal (ie starting to go through menopause?)

Hi Curlytop

Your periods sound exactly like mine..I am 34 and have been told that I have diminished ovarian reserve. My AMH was 2.5 and my FSH tests were over 12. I still have a period every month but it only lasts a couple of days and yes I too have short cycles.I know I ovulate as I can feel it!! The ovulation tests always showed positive aswell. It must just be that my eggs are old and are off very poor quality now.

I am about to have ED transfer in Spain so I hope this works.

Jadie - I hope you have spoken to your GP. It must be extremely hard to deal with early menopause at 19. I cant imagine what you are going through.

Lidia - Its wonderful to hear success stories! :-D

Take Care
