Congrats lizzy on your pregnancy :) so happy for you! Vicky, i really would not be worried at all....I didnt really "feel" for sure any movement until about 20-21 weeks and then it was faint movements on and off....I am not 26 weeks and feel her a lot, but sometimes I wont feel her all day, maybe a tiny bit and I get worried, but she's always strong as ever when we hear her heartbeat :) it just really depends on the person and size of the uterus and all that. What I find always get mine going is a slurpee....something cold and sugary is what my doc said to eat/drink. He said to lay in a quiet room for an hour and just concentrate on the baby moving and you'll feel her move. It works for me everytime :) but you are still early along :)
Good to hear from you ladies! back to the daily grind!
Congrats to Lizzy, its such a worrying time those first few months...but then it doesnt change, you just worry all the way though.
Michelle will you not have another scan now? can you get a 4d one done, they are usually between 27-32 weeks?
Vicky I agree with Michelle, dont worry about movements, you are probably feeling them but not realising what it is. People kept saying to me that it feels like bubbles but i didnt get a lot of that, we went straight onto kicking. A lot of people say that they move more at night too so it might be having a party when you sleep, mine deffo likes it when I lay down... and the bath, that really gets it moving.
Im 29 weeks today and have a real wriggler, it seems to wriggle more than kick, my whole belly seems to move, I have just started to get feet sticking out too which is really wierd. Had 28 week scan last week to check on cord which was fine, got another one at 32 weeks to look at placenta and decide whether its c section. Iv also booked a 4d scan at a private company, very exciting but scary at same time as they are so clear.
Hope you are all ok, we all need to update more regular.
Hey Nicky! I am getting a 4D done on June 13th :) I cannot wait to see what my little girl looks like! Have you gotten your nursery done yet? I have ordered all her furniture, now have to paint and wait on it to get here! We ended up naming her "Averie Grace"....now the anticipation of her actually getting here is killing me!
Can you see the feet now? My belly moves around so much now and last night, I was gently pressing where she was laying and could feel an arm or leg or something...i love it.
Really glad to see u r all doing really well
.
I'm 11 weeks monday I've got a scan today I always get a little nervers
Just before a scan . I've had no sickness or any other symptoms
So as much as I'm lucky that worrys me too
But like u said its one big worry lol
Hi everyone.. hope you are all doing well and Lizzy hope your scan went well and all okay with you.
As for me, I had my 20 week scan on 29th May only to be told that both twins were actually around 18 weeks?? Found this really hard to understand since it was IVF? I have another scan this afternoon and I have done nothing but worry since the last one just incase theres something wrong and their not growing right..especially as there is still no movement!!
Have any of the rest of you ladies heard of this or been told you were behind in weeks? Im quite scared! xxx
Michelle had our 4d scan and now everyone that already thinks its a boy thinks its a boy even more, scannerman kept saying it looked like DH and I sent it his mum who said yes it looks like him as a baby, then added poor thing LOL. Lovely name, we havent quite decided yet, DH wants to use his late dads name of Charles, so Charlie which we can use for both, we both like Jessica for a girl (also says in my baby name book that it means 'a gift', so Jessica Charlie for girl, and either Charlie Thomas or Thomas Charlie for boy... maybe. yes nursery is about done, just some finishing touches to do. Dhs cousin bought us round a baby bath other night with loads of bits and bobs in, the room smells like a baby now he he I keep putting my head in and sniffing it!!
yes my belly realllly moves, and it quite often kicks things touching me, my neice was laid with me on sofa with her head resting against my side and it started kicking her lol. im 32 weeks today and when I saw midwife on Mon she said its in position which is why im constantly getting kicked in ribs, she said the head was quite low for 31.5 weeks but could be because im short, then added, have you packed your bag.. hmmm both me and sis came early and so did my sisters two!!
Lizzy how did your scan go?? Some people dont get any sickness or anything so I wouldnt worry about that.
Vicky did they say there was anything wrong? dont forget twins are usually smaller than a singleton baby, maybe they are just fighting for space. Here you only get a date at 12 week scan, they dated me a week ahead which after IVF made it impossible so they are just an estimate anyway. Let us know how you got on this afternoon. Dont worry about no movement either, I didnt feel anything I definately knew was baby til well after 20 weeks. Did you see their heartbeats and did they check everything else was ok??
Hey ladies! good to hear from all of you. How did your scan go Lizzy? I dont think it really means a lot when they measure a little off...I agree with what nicky said about twins being smaller. My friend just measured 3 weeks ahead of where shes supposed to be and her baby is healthy..so I wouldnt worry too much...I know, I know, easier said than done! I still worry at 30 weeks...someday baby is active and somedays she is chilling out and of course I get so worried something is wrong.
Nicky---that's funny about your baby looking like your hubby :) I love the names too...my friend just named her little girl "Charleigh"...I thinks its so cute for a little girl! We almost have the nursery done and we only have the stroller left to buy, which we will do that soon...babies are expensive! LOL! My little one was kicking the DH in the back the other day when I was laying behind him..I was cracking up. My stomach is now starting to look distorted when she moves around...but I love it!
Well take care ladies and glad you are all doing so well :)
Hi ladies just wondering how you are all keeping on here? It's been a while since iv been on but it would be lovely for a catch up! I'm
25+1 and found it it's 2 girls :) so I'm delighted. One twin is a week behind the other but their not worried as their non ID so I'll just go with what they say??
Hi Ladies - Glad you are all well!!! I ain't been on here for ages been getting everthing sorted and been tired at night! Congratulations Lizzy well happy for you.
How is everyone getting excited I hope now not too long left!!.
Well i'm now 34 weeks & 5days with my baby twin girls - My tummy is massive now !! Sometimes its gets annoying when your shopping and people stop to gawp at you. It looks like i've swollowed a "space hopper" lol. I'm still getting pelvic pain worse at night and my knees are giving me gip too :(
Was gutted at last last as had to have a transvaginal scan to check position of twin 1's placenta as its been low from around 20wks and it was 6mm from my cervix so i've got to have a c-sec - I've been under the impression from the beggining that I would have them at 37wks and then the stand in consultant booked me in for a c-sec 20th august so i'll be 39wks & 2days ill be ready to burst by then on 3rd july my girls were weighing in at 4 pound 12 & 4 pound 13!! Realy good weights - I'm getting alot of Braxtons now and feeling abit scared if my waters break early as it will be an emergency c-sec. my next consultant app is 31st july hope i make it to then.
Hope everyone is doing ok, be nice to have some updates as we all come to the end of our journey
Candy im really surprised they arnt doing it early if they know you need a c-sec, hopefully you wont need an emergency one, bet it just seems so far away, can you not speak to your normal consultant and see if they can book you in earlier? Does your pelvic pain hurt during the day too? no one tells you the glamourous bits of pregnancy do they lol Do you have names?? and having just the one I look like iv a football up my top rather than a spacehopper lol, its really low and people look at you really worried as if to say 'dont go into labour in my shop' lol
Im 37wk 5d today, iv got sciatica which is worse at night and first thing in morning, came on all of a sudden when the head engaged, midwife thinks the pelvis is pressing on the sciatic nerve. Its so frustrating as I just cant do anything as it hurts to walk and I cant drive. Consultant told me not to worry about talking the painkillers they gave me as better to be upright for baby to travel in right direction and thinks it will sort itself once baby is here. Since my last scan we found out placenta in much better position and they couldnt see anything unusual about the cord so are presuming that has moved up with the placenta, so im on track for a normal birth. im booked in for a sweep on mu due date if nothing happens by then, and on that date will book me in for induction, they dont like IVFers to go much overdue at our hosp, is it same at yours? Bag is packed, phones are constantly on charge..and i seem to have someone ringing me every day checking in, im sure they have a rota lol
and dont get me wrong, I like the fact summer has finally arrived but did it have to do it at the end of our pregnancies!!! id really like to just walk round like a naturist as its soo stuffy lol
