Dear all.
I am probably repeating requests here but I am looking for recent experiences from any of the clinics in Alicante for ED. So far I have spoken with Mediterranean Health Care and received info from Ur vistahermosa clinic and Instituto Bernabeu.
Is it just a lucky dip like all aspects of TTC seem to be:-)
Many thanks in advance, Carol
Hi Carol,
I saw that no one had responded to your post. on the IVI Alicante thread there are a number of ladies who went to IVI in Alicante and have had very successful outcomes. I am sure they can give you some advice on IVI if not the other clinics you mention.
I post on this thread, although am behind everyone else as I have not yet started treatment and have now pretty much decided to go to Athens for treatment.
This is because I would like a tandem IVF cycle - the clinic stimulate you and a donor at the same time, and at embryo transfer time you have a choice whether to transfer your embryos (if you have any viable ones), the donor egg ones or a mixture. This is not a treatment that the Spanish clinics seems to offer.
Pop over and say hello if you would like.
Good luck with your treatment

Hello,
I am currently having treatment with the Instituto Bernabeu, Alicante Spain.
We have alway found then helpful, professional and accommodation. They respond to my e-mails within good time & I have never felt liks a 'piece of meat' and have always felt that i was the only person undergoing treatment when i have been there.
They pick up and take to the airport to & from your accommodtion
The clinic is is a nice part of town approx 10 - 15 min walk from the tram line.
They provide lists of accommdation (self catering)- we have stayed in Playa de San Juan - 20 min tram ride from Alicante. It has its own beach etc and is not so buzy as tha main town.
The eggs donated have always been 'A' grade, you only get the age, blood group medical and psychology report of the donor, but they do go through a lot of test.
Dr Bernabeu is happy to discuss any concerns / requests that you may have about your treatment programme.
Even though my three rounds of ivf & ICIS have not stayed past a month or have been unsucessful (Last one pending) i would strongly recommend.
All the very best

Hi. I had treatment at Clnica Fertia in Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol. DH and I combined it with a weeks holiday relaxing and although they are quite a small clinic, they found me a donor really quickly, answered my endless questions and were always very helpful.
We had 2 grade A embryos transferred on 8th June and I am currently in my 2WW and have my blood test on Wed 20th so fingers crossed. Total cost including meds was £6k which is slightly cheaper than some of the Spanish clinics.
I also contacted CERAM in Marbella who were equally as helpful and came up with a donor quickly too, but we had already found a donor with Clinica Fertia.
Hi Carol
Just to add to Julie's note and the notes from Nat and Mandy.
I am one of the ladies who got a BFP from IVI Alicante. I would highly recommend them. Clinic is state of the art and they staff there are lovely. Great communication etc. Perhaps IVI is a little more expensive than other clinics, but I I am just surmising.
Wishing you all the best
Cathy
BAD EXPERIENCE IVF ALICANTE with DONOR EGG.
Hi am new I must say, THANKs Im not alone . FIRST let me say my Dx 34 Test in Spain and at home, sperm came out perfect . Im 36 yr and have Endo, High FSH .
I have been trying since 2006, I've had 2 failed ICSI/IVF's because my High FSH. , I was referred to an ICSI/IVF specialist, but I knew deep down that wasn't correct. I didn’t know my FSH was so high back then ... from all cycles done ,we got just 1 embrio bad quality ,of course resulted in Negative.. So I went to another OB/GYN an insisted to take a FSH level test, as I read about it. One month after came out 23 or so. It was so hard but we were sure what we had to do next. OB suggested one more try with IVF or to move onto DE." Well, we decided to take the 2 pad..
I was told because my uterus was sooooooo good and that the IVF Alicante bla bla the success rate was 70-90% .I was so exc. After a surgery , I was ready to start, May 2012 and go….started cycle MOK, we were waiting for my period and f. came…we went to Spain . But since the first interview we felt so much pressure , the Director sent us an email from one to another day to get an answer from us ,we had to decide to start ASAP the cycle as they had a perfect donor, was hard but we couldn’t really decid. at that moment, we were working ... so decided to start the cycle on the next holiday, then a lack of info started from the clinic and the Director ,but they were fast at answering and kind have to say. I felt I had to ask each single thing, I asked once if they had the donor ready for me, etc, not direct answers from the director...so I started feeling a bit nervous etc…. at the end the gave us a substitute donor because we couldn’t accept the first donor and the time was to tide… Dr x Director said again to us now or never, because june, july and august no donor is easy to be found.
Well……we accepted and at the end ....): it didn’t work BETA came out. 0- NEGATIVE. despite was a fresh cycle, she had 14 eggs, we got on 06.06 just 3 but super fertilized (2 blast and 1 mor) (Dr director IVF Alicante told us) amazing 0 made it to freez..I felt horrible because I have NOTHING LEFT! I was so mad ( so we asked to transferred the 3 Angels) I was sure we could have had a little pair of twince finally but I was wrong...Dr told us that the result were for sure because of my DH sperm, a genetical anomaly ????? Incredible ....couldn’t be the eggs quality from the donor ??? she was 30 just 5 years younger than me. . Double whamy, once again! I was devasated!
when GOD, when is it going to be me?
So we moved to an other clinic for sure... I hope to get the money to start a new cycle, this was a disaster…
