I am on day 11 of my Injection Cycle. I had a scan last Friday. There are a lot of follicles on the ovaries but they are not all as big as they need to be so they increased my injections. The doctor said she is happy and that the increase will bring us where we need to be.... I am always sceptical they hold back on the truth so you don't feel stressed... I have another scan tomorrow and egg retrieval on Friday morning.
I am feeling slight pressure pains in my tummy on both sides. Has anyone experienced this before? Also, can someone who is experienced at this let me know the key indicators that I should be looking for and asking the doctors about? I know they said the endometrium is nice and thick.. 9. something...
Anyone on the same cycle? I would be grateful for any comments...
I'm not on the same cycle as you as am waiting to do ICSI (first time) and will be commencing with the injections next month (not sure when as yet). However, I just wanted to wish you all the luck in the world and to say that I hope you're feeling alright and trying to keep a positive train of thought at all times! It all sounds very nerve wracking, but I am sure that the docs are pretty positive about these things because they see it all the time, every day, and they usually have success at some juncture. I hope all goes well - keep me posted on how you're getting on!
Congrats on the many follicles! Fear not about the pains on sides of your tummy. That's just your ovaries getting bigger! You're going to feel that for a while and if you have lots of eggs like I did (22), the pain may get a little bit more pronounced as you get up to EC. It will eventually subside as your ovaries go back down again, but may still feel the pains through your TWW and on into the initial bits of your pregnancy (b/c you know you're gonna get that BFP, right?!)
Presently, I'm 13 wks 1 day pregnant with a singleton and I don't think my ovaries had gone back down to normal until almost 7 wks. Just so you have a ballpark period of time to shoot for.
Best of luck and lots of sticky baby dust to you and your DH!
Thanks for the email. I am just back from my second scan. They said there are about 12 large follicles and a lot of smaller ones which they will not be using. They are putting me on an IV drip for EC this Friday.. They said they need to monitor things because if all follicles have eggs they would be worried about Hyper Stimulation... Fingers crossed it won't come to that. They also told me they will organise to have someone in the hospital on Sunday after Egg Transfer to give me acupuncture which is great.. I have been getting it for over a year now and I hope it makes a difference..
She also told me that tummy pains ar normal.. its because my ovaries are the size of grape fruits when they should be the size of walnuts!! It is a horrible feeling!...
