thanks for all this information which is brilliant.
I am on chinese herbs but hate them and my chinese dr says he has no tablets to give me. I was wondering if anyone knows where to get them from - I will try a chinese shop for them I guess, but any ideas?
cheers Georgia
my acupuncturist got my tablets for me, I think from Dr Herbs. She took advise from her old lecturer at Uni who she keeps in contact with, she is a Chinese Doctor. I was given Tio Jing Cu Yun Wan tablets to take. These tablets are used for infertility but there are many many others and it depends on your yin and yang or something as to which ones are suitable for you.
Why can your chinese doctor not give you any tablets? I would find another one if he is not being helpful.
I'm not sure whether to try them again as my clinic have put a note up on the wall saying that they have had people in for a repeat cycle who havent responded as well as they did previously and they have found that these people have been taking chinese herbs. They are advising us not to take them. So at the moment I'm not sure what I am going to do.
I read your messages at different threads. You have mentioned that you are taking Chinese herbs and acupuncture along with your IVF treatment. I want to know if your IVF doctor say anything about you taking the complementary therapy. I have been through several IVF doctors and they all strongly opposed me taking Chinese herbs. I have 3 failed IVF so far and I am 42. Time is really not on my side. I really want to try take acuputure this time for my IVF treatment. You seemed very knowledgable in this field as I read your thread. Is the Chinese medication help your IVF process? I read you had a BFP on your 11 days last month. I don't know what was the result for you but I wish you all the best.
I did take tablets for a while but my clinic told me to stop taking them. They said they had women coming into the clinic for repeat IVF cycles and they weren't responding as well as they had done previously and after speaking to them they found that they had been taking chinese herbs.
I had acupuncture for 18 months and had 2 IVF cycles and 1 IUI and they were all BFN. I dont know if the acupuncture helped me in any way.
I've since had another IVF cycle without acupuncture and that was BFN also.
I am 42 next month and I am now going down the egg donation route and am going to Spain for this.
Personally, I would do without the herbs, but its your choice
I was just reading everything that you had written about acupuncture. I have been going to a doctor in Atlanta for about 5 months. I was seeing a fertility specialist and he wanted to shoot me up with shots and come in every 3 days for a sonogram and i just couldn't handle it. So I decided to do it the natural way. I have been taking teas and herbs for about 4 1/2 months. i am on primrose oil and other herbs to lower my fsh levels. when they tested me about 6 months ago, i was over 40. i am now happy to report that i my levels are 10.5. very exciting, and i can only give credit to my acupuncturist. i go 3 times a week and take my herbs daily. i just had implantation bleeding a few weeks ago and have taken a pregnancy test and it is negative. my acupuncturist says that it is to early to tell. i just wanted to let you know that going to an acupuncturist is a great thing. they can work wonders on your body.....
I just wanted to update everyone and let them know that I am now 6 weeks pregnant. I know that by doing acupuncture for 8 months got me pregnant. He is a miracle doctor. God deserves all of the glory, though. I heard the heartbeat yesterday! I pray for this little one inside my belly daily!!! Acupuncture does work. I am proof of that!! I can remember going to the first doctor and him telling me that I would only get pregnant using donor eggs. He just wanted to sell me an egg. I was so upset walking out of that office. I would love to talk to him now!
I saw this thread as I am thinking about having acupuncture. I saw a post when you said you were thinking about what clinic to go to.
I am at CRM too!
I looked round London Womens Clinic in Harley Street and CRM. I did not go to the Lister as I want to egg share and it is still expensive at the Lister as you have to pay for ICSI and blastocyst culture if you get that far.
At CRM it's all free except the ICSI. I also liked the feel of the place and am happy with the treatment there. My nurse is Kate and I am with Dr Yeoung.
I am having my first IVF cycle next month. I have my prostap injection to down reg on 22 dec and a scan on 6th jan to check if i can do stims.
Im 28 and hubby and i have male factor issues.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is wonderful news - good luck for your pregnancy. I wish you all the best x
We 'spoke' some months ago when our cases were very similar. I too have FSH over 40 but my periods are very irregular too - which is not great. I initially went down the IVF route and have 2 cancelled cycles behind me. I am now 1 month into taking chinese herbs. Can you tell me what herbs you were taking and how they were given to you (as herbs or tablets or ?) I have herbs pre boiled by my guy. Any other tips would be so so appreciated - I am so desperate!!
