Hi Hazzey

I went through the adoption process 18 months ago in the South of England and no-one ever mentioned an age limit to us. In fact most of us where in our 30/40's. With one couple she was mid 40's and he was mid 50's so I don't think its too much of a concern. Obviously if you were both in your 80's they may have something to say about it but y ou're both still young!!

If you go online to and google either "Be My Parent" or "Children who wait", it will give you loads more info.

Good luck

Just ready your thread, it does depend on your local authority guides lines, some local authorities have some very tight rules on age limitation. Just ask and they will let you the know age limitation also the age limitation for the child.

That is interesting to read. I was told there was an age limit, in that there could be no more than 40 years difference between the child's age and the oldest parents age. This was bad news for us, as my husband is a lot older than me. We were informed that we would probably be looking at a teenager, which was not quite what we had in mind.

I will now look around and see if we can find another agency now.

Thank you.
